North Texas Anti-Trafficking Team, Human Trafficking, Texas 2023

DALLAS – The grim battle against human trafficking took a pivotal step forward today as the North Texas Anti-Trafficking Team (NTATT), led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, hosted a comprehensive training session.

In a direct confrontation with the underbelly of crime, nearly 220 law enforcement officials and victim service providers gathered at the Mac Bernd Professional Development Center in Arlington for the day-long seminar titled “Investigating Beneath the Surface.” U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas kicked off the event with an unwavering opening speech.

The training was a veritable who’s who of anti-trafficking experts, diving deep into critical topics such as pimping trends, legal battles against traffickers, and trauma bonds in victims. Keynotes included discussions on labor trafficking investigations, agricultural visa cases, and the vital services needed for trafficked individuals.

Established in 2006, NTATT has been a relentless force in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, combining federal, state, and local law enforcement with non-governmental agencies to offer essential services to victims. Their mission is clear: discover and rescue trafficking victims while identifying and prosecuting their captors.

This year’s event marks another step in NTATT’s ongoing commitment to community presence, victim identification operations, officer training, and awareness campaigns. The fight against human trafficking is relentless, and today’s training session serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication of those on the front lines.
