A convicted felon from Ocala, Florida, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm offense. Ronrico Lionel Farmer, 33, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.
A sentencing date has not yet been set for Farmer, who was indicted on September 28, 2021. According to court documents, Farmer was stopped by an Ocala police officer on April 17, 2021, after committing a traffic infraction. During the stop, Farmer gave the officer a false name to conceal his suspended license.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a substance, later identified as fentanyl, on the driver’s floorboard. Farmer referred to the substance as ‘children’s candy.’ The officer also discovered a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine on the floorboard. The FBI conducted a DNA analysis of the recovered firearm and determined that Farmer’s DNA was on the weapon.
