Ocala, Florida – In a grim turn of justice, Senior U.S. District Judge John Antoon II has sentenced Justin Lewis (41, Ocala) to 10 years and 7 months in federal prison for possession of child sexual abuse material. This sentence must be served consecutively to another 5 and a half-year term Lewis is currently serving for wire fraud.
A jury found Lewis guilty of the offense on June 27, 2023. The conviction stems from a February 7, 2018, search warrant executed by federal agents at Lewis’s Ocala residence. During the search, agents discovered two external hard drives containing video files depicting child sexual abuse material. These same hard drives also held personal documents attributed to Lewis, including photographs, his high school diploma, and business records. One of the hard drives was encrypted with a password used for many of his personal accounts.
The FBI investigated this case, which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William S. Hamilton. It is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. This nationwide effort coordinates federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who sexually exploit children.
