Andre Willis, Credit Card Skimming, Alabama 2023

Montgomery, AL – A sinister conspiracy to steal credit and debit card numbers from Olive Garden patrons in Prattville has led to the arrest of two alleged culprits. Andre Willis, 35, and Kenmore Strother, 26, have been charged with a host of offenses including conspiracy, access device fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

According to authorities, Strother, who was employed at Olive Garden, used a skimming device provided by Willis to steal card numbers from unsuspecting customers. Willis then allegedly utilized the stolen information for personal gain, shopping at local businesses with the fraudulent account numbers.

The alleged conspiracy came to light following an investigation by the United States Secret Service and the Prattville Police Department. The defendants are now facing substantial prison time if convicted: a maximum of 5 years for conspiracy, 10 years for access device fraud, and a mandatory two-year sentence for aggravated identity theft. Strother also faces up to 15 years on an additional access device fraud charge.

Assistant United States Attorney Kevin Davidson is handling the prosecution of this case. The grim nature of these charges underscores the ongoing threat that credit card skimming poses to unsuspecting consumers in today’s digital age.

The charges against Willis and Strother are merely allegations, and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
