Home Invasion Turns Deadly in Lincoln.

A 28-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to 55 years in federal prison for his role in a home invasion that resulted in the death of a Lincoln mother.

Dante Williams, 28, was sentenced by Chief United States District Judge John M. Gerrard on June 29, 2021, for his part in the July 31, 2018, home invasion that claimed the life of Jessica Brandon.

Williams’ co-defendants, who discharged firearms during the home invasion, were each given a life sentence, plus 240 months in federal prison, for their roles in the felony murder.

Williams was sentenced to 45 years for aiding and abetting the murder and 10 additional years, to be served consecutively, for taking part in two attempted robberies in connection with the same crime.

According to court documents, Williams took a baseball with him to Brandon’s home on the first attempted robbery on July 30, 2018, and helped his brother, Damon Williams, zip tie children and one elderly woman in their beds during the home invasion.

Williams also received 5 years of supervised release to follow his term of imprisonment. In the federal system, there is no parole.

The case was investigated by the Lincoln Police, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lincoln Federal Bureau of Investigation.
