Orlando, FL – A brutal crackdown on drug trafficking has resulted in a severe federal prison sentence for Eric C. Falkowski, a 35-year-old Orlando resident.
Falkowski was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months behind bars by U.S. District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza for his role in the distribution of fentanyl and other controlled substances. He also pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, Falkowski imported fentanyl from China to manufacture counterfeit prescription pills such as Xanax and Percocet. Using pill presses and dyes, he produced these illegal drugs before shipping them across state lines to Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, and beyond.
In February 2016, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Falkowski’s residence. During the raid, they uncovered more than 300 grams of fentanyl, various controlled substances, pill-making equipment, and seven firearms. Falkowski’s fingerprints were found on a .380 caliber Walther pistol, a weapon he was prohibited from possessing as a convicted felon.
This investigation was a joint effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Shawn P. Napier prosecuted the case with determination.
