MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Oscar Armando Banegas Mendoza, a/k/a Oscar Armando Banegas-Bendoza, will be facing the consequences of his actions after pleading guilty to Unlawful Reentry of Removed Alien. The charge, punishable by a term of imprisonment of not more than ten years, and a fine of not more than $250,000.00, was brought forth by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The alleged offense took place on December 16, 2025, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Banegas Mendoza, an alien, was found in the United States without obtaining the express consent of the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission to the United States after having been previously removed on November 27, 2010.
The investigation into this incident was conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at repelling the invasion of illegal immigration, achieving the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protecting our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
Banegas Mendoza will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing. A U.S. District Court Judge will determine the sentence to be imposed after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
