Oxycodone Ring Busted in NH

CONCORD — Mara Morillo, a 40-year-old Haverhill, Massachusetts, resident, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute, and possess with intent to distribute, oxycodone and cocaine in a federal court in New Hampshire.

According to the United States Attorney Emily Gray Rice, Morillo appeared before United States District Court Judge Steven J. McAuliffe to enter her guilty plea. The plea was part of a larger investigation that led to the indictment of six individuals in September 2015.

Morillo admitted to selling oxycodone to a cooperating individual in Haverhill, Massachusetts, and participating in the distribution of cocaine and oxycodone with other individuals in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. During the execution of a search warrant at her residence in August 2015, authorities seized over $18,000 in cash.

Morillo is one of six individuals charged with conspiracy to distribute, and possession of controlled substances with the intent to distribute. The other defendants include Franklyn Morillo, Juan Rojas, Justin Bartimus, Jorge Medina, and Michael Lally.

Lally, a 28-year-old Salem, New Hampshire, resident, pleaded guilty on March 22, 2016, and is scheduled for sentencing on June 29, 2016. Bartimus, a 35-year-old formerly of Methuen, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty on May 4, 2016, and is scheduled for sentencing on August 30, 2016.

The remaining defendants in the drug conspiracy case are set to go to trial on September 20, 2016. The case was supported by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) and was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Tactical Diversion Squad with assistance from the Haverhill, Massachusetts Police Department, the Methuen, Massachusetts Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police.

Assistant United States Attorney John J. Farley is prosecuting the case. Morillo is scheduled for sentencing on August 30, 2016.
