A Rochester man has been sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for participating in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, according to a statement from the United States Attorney’s Office.
Thomas Fall, 44, of Rochester, was sentenced on November 18, 2020, after previously pleading guilty to the charges. The conspiracy allegedly took place in 2018 and 2019, with Fall and others distributing approximately 100 grams of fentanyl in New Hampshire.
According to court documents, an individual cooperating with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) participated in four controlled drug purchases from Fall and another individual at their Rochester residence in July and August 2019. Fall admitted to participating in the conspiracy in a post-arrest interview, stating that he and another individual purchased fentanyl from a Massachusetts-based source and then distributed some of the fentanyl to New Hampshire-based drug customers.
The DEA and other law enforcement agencies arrested Fall on January 14, 2020. The case was investigated by the DEA’s Tactical Diversion Squad, the New Hampshire State Police, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Strafford County Drug Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Cole Davis.
The operation is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level drug traffickers and transnational criminal organizations threatening the United States.
“Fentanyl trafficking has caused tremendous damage to communities throughout New Hampshire,” said U.S. Attorney Scott W. Murray. “Those who are responsible for bringing this deadly drug into the Granite State need to be held accountable for their conduct. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to identify, prosecute, and incarcerate the drug dealers who are responsible for distributing fentanyl and other deadly opioids in our state.”
Fentanyl is a highly addictive synthetic opioid that has contributed to a rising number of overdose deaths in New Hampshire and across the country.
Fall’s sentence is a result of his role in the conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, which has caused significant harm to communities in New Hampshire.
