Noah Michael Urban, Wire Fraud Conspiracy, Florida 2024

Jacksonville, Florida – Senior U.S. District Judge Harvey E. Schlesinger has sentenced Noah Michael Urban, 20, of Palm Coast, to a decade in federal prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

Urban, also known by aliases such as ‘King Bob,’ ‘Sosa,’ ‘Elijah,’ and ‘Gustavo Fring,’ has been ordered to forfeit approximately $4.8 million in assets, which includes cryptocurrency and other property. Additionally, he faces a repayment order of $13 million in restitution after pleading guilty on April 4, 2025.

According to court documents, Urban was implicated in a sophisticated scheme between August 2022 and March 2023, where he stole cryptocurrency from at least 59 victims across the United States. The hacker, along with accomplices, executed ‘SIM swaps’ to obtain personal identification information (PII) of their targets. With this PII, they accessed the victims’ cryptocurrency accounts online, leading to the theft of millions in digital currency.

In parallel, Urban was part of a phishing campaign that targeted employees nationwide. The stolen credentials were utilized to gain unauthorized access to non-public company data and information. This group also leveraged information from various sources to hack into numerous individuals’ cryptocurrency accounts and wallets, resulting in further thefts.

The FBI uncovered evidence linking Urban’s computer to the victims’ email accounts and cryptocurrency wallets during a search warrant at his residence. Cryptocurrency worth nearly $4.8 million from stolen accounts was found on his devices, with the total loss to victims exceeding $13 million.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John Cannizzaro of the Middle District of Florida and Assistant United States Attorney Lauren Restrepo of the Central District of California.
