Tampa, Florida – A Palm Harbor resident has been sentenced to six years and six months in federal prison for possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). George Puskas II, 66, pleaded guilty on March 27, 2025, and was also ordered to pay $46,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender.
According to court documents, the FBI connected to one of Puskas’s electronic devices using a file-sharing program between December 2022 and August 2023. They downloaded multiple files of CSAM, including images depicting minors under the age of 12 and sadistic or masochistic conduct. In September 2023, a search warrant at Puskas’ home yielded several devices containing hundreds of photos and dozens of videos of child sexual abuse material.
The FBI executed a search warrant at Puskas’ residence in September 2023, leading to the seizure of multiple electronic devices. A subsequent forensic search revealed the extensive collection of CSAM. Puskas was charged with receiving child sexual abuse material, a crime that garnered attention from Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.
This case marks another victory for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Largo Police Department, who collaborated on the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Ross Roberts prosecuted the case. Puskas is now one of many individuals to face justice under Project Safe Childhood, which has been actively working to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who sexually exploit children.
