Parmelee Woman Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter
Kamelia Ione No Moccasin, a 28-year-old woman from Parmelee, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in a federal indictment. The charge stems from an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.
No Moccasin was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 16, 2013, and appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on January 24, 2013. She pled not guilty to the indictment, which carries a maximum penalty of up to 8 years in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both; 3 years of supervised release; and a $100 Special Assessment. Restitution may also be ordered.
