Sexual Exploitation of Children Case Rocks Chattanooga
A 42-year-old Chattanooga man has been slapped with serious charges after a sting operation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Patrick Bryant Hawley, a resident of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, was arrested on November 14, 2024, and charged with sexual exploitation of children.
According to court records, an initial appearance was held before United States Magistrate Judge Susan K. Lee in the United States District Court in Chattanooga. Hawley was subsequently detained, and an arraignment is scheduled for November 22, 2024. A trial date will be set at a later time.
The details of the charges are outlined in the arrest warrant and supporting affidavit, which are filed as public records in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
United States Attorney Francis M. Hamilton, III, Special Agent in Charge Rana Saoud with HSI, and Special Agent in Charge Joseph E. Carrico with the FBI made the announcement.
HSI encourages anyone who believes that they or someone they know has been a victim of child exploitation to contact them at (877) 4-HSI-TIP or online at www.ice.gov/tipline.
It’s essential to note that these are only charges, and every person is presumed innocent until their guilt has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
