Pennsylvania Man Dockets Child Pornography Charges
Patrick Laquer, 23, of Jenkintown, PA, has been handed a 7-month prison sentence for possession of child pornography.
Laquer was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Christina Reiss on November 20, 2014. In addition to his prison term, he was also sentenced to five years of supervised release to be served after the completion of his prison term.
According to court records, an FBI investigator detected a computer that was offering to share child pornography on the Internet. The investigator downloaded videos and image files from the computer that contained child pornography and determined that the computer was located in Burlington, Vermont.
A federal search warrant was obtained by FBI Special Agents for Laquer’s apartment and laptop after determining that he was a college student at the University of Vermont. An FBI forensic expert verified that Laquer’s laptop computer did, indeed, contain videos and images of child pornography.
Laquer was indicted by a federal grand jury on December 5, 2013, on a single count of possession of child pornography. He was arraigned on December 18, 2014, and released on conditions. Laquer pleaded guilty to the indictment on July 14, 2014.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. U.S. Attorney Tristram J. Coffin commends the agency for its work in this case. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nancy J. Creswell. Laquer was represented by Ernest M. Allen III.
