ABINGDON, Va. – In a shocking display of violence behind bars, an inmate at USP Lee in Jonesville, Virginia has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term for his role in a brutal assault.
Peter Pagan, 28, pleaded guilty in June 2021 to assaulting another inmate with a prison-made knife known as a ‘shank’ with the intent to do bodily harm. The assault occurred in June 2020.
According to court documents, Pagan attacked inmate A.C. with the deadly weapon, leaving the victim in a precarious situation.
The investigation into the case was led by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which conducted a thorough probe into the incident.
