Mikal McCracken, Armed Carjacking, Pennsylvania 2022

⏱ 2 min read

PHILADELPHIA – A five-man crew is facing serious time after a federal jury convicted them today in connection with a terrifying wave of carjackings that ripped through the city, culminating in two deaths. The group wasn’t just stealing cars; they were leaving a trail of fear and bullets.

Prosecutors laid out a case showing the men conspired to hijack vehicles – at least 29 in total – then fence them for profit, shipping the stolen goods overseas. But the scheme quickly escalated to lethal violence.

Mikal McCracken, 24, known on the streets as “Kal,” was convicted on the most serious charges, including felony murder for the February 2022 killing of a former Marine during a carjacking. The jury also found McCracken guilty of conspiring to whack a potential witness in the same month – a grim attempt to cover their tracks. Beyond the murder, McCracken’s rap sheet included involvement in 20 other armed carjackings, five of which involved shots fired. One victim was targeted twice, robbed and shot on separate occasions.

Amin Muse, 24, using the aliases “Miyn” and “Miyns,” shared the blame for the Marine’s murder and the witness conspiracy. He also faced conviction for eight additional armed carjackings, one where a victim was shot at.

Aleem Abdul-Hakim, 23, aka “Fatleem,” stood accused and convicted in the Marine’s murder and five other armed carjackings. Dean Fosque, 28, labeled “30,” was found guilty relating to nine carjackings, including three shootings – one victim was actually hit. Kavon Coleman, 23, “Ski,” was convicted in connection to four armed hijackings.

The feds now plan to seek life sentences for McCracken and Muse. Sentencing dates have not been set for the other three. This wasn’t just about stolen cars; it was a brazen display of violence that terrorized the city, and now these guys will answer for it.
