Charles Pulliam, Grand Larceny of Motor Vehicle, South Dakota 2012

A brazen car theft in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, has landed a teenager behind bars. Charles Pulliam, 18, of Pine Ridge, appeared before Chief U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken on March 7, 2013, and pleaded guilty to Larceny.

The crime, which occurred between December 24 and 25, 2012, involved the theft of a 2001 Pontiac from another individual in Pine Ridge. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 5 years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.

According to the investigation, Pulliam’s actions were not taken lightly. The case was handled by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety.
