A Pittsburgh man has been convicted of violating federal narcotics trafficking laws. United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced the conviction of 38-year-old Edward Harris, a resident of Allegheny County.
Harris pled guilty to possessing over 100 grams of powder cocaine on June 18, 2010, with intent to distribute, and over five grams of crack cocaine on January 27, 2011, with intent to distribute. Both crimes were committed in Allegheny County.
According to officials, Harris’s crimes were the result of a joint investigation led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller is prosecuting this case on behalf of the United States.
Harris’s sentencing is scheduled for August 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. before United States District Court Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr.
