Aaron Nathaniel Gabbert, a 50-year-old Portland, Oregon, man, has been charged with possession of cocaine and firearms after a search warrant was executed at his residence on March 25, 2026. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office conducted the raid, which turned up a stash of 34 firearms, including rifles, shotguns, and handguns, as well as approximately one pound of cocaine. The search warrant was the result of an investigation that identified Gabbert as a narcotics distributor. The motive behind the raid was to disrupt Gabbert’s alleged drug trafficking operation.
During the search, investigators found the majority of the cocaine in the basement, along with multiple firearms, over $11,000 in cash, and a 3-D printed firearm suppressor. They also located what appeared to be two destructive devices, as well as a ballistic helmet and vest. The sheer amount of firepower and narcotics found at the scene suggests that Gabbert was heavily involved in the drug trade.
The case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office – Special Investigation Unit – Dangerous Drugs Team. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Scott M. Kerin and Kemp Strickland are prosecuting the case. The arrest is part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative, which aims to eliminate transnational criminal organizations and human smuggling and trafficking rings operating in the United States and abroad.
Gabbert made his initial appearance before a U.S. magistrate judge on Friday, but the outcome of the case is still pending. A criminal complaint is only an accusation of a crime, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
