An Illinois predator flew to Zanesville, Ohio, to abuse a 12-year-old girl he met online. Immanuel D. Nellum, 30, of Peoria Heights, Illinois, pleaded guilty to coercing and enticing the minor to engage in sex acts.
Nellum met the victim on the online app Friend when she was just 12 years old. Between August 2023 and August 2025, Nellum and the victim exchanged nude images and videos, with over 141,000 messages and 5,500 attachments on Nellum’s phone.
In August 2025, Nellum traveled to Zanesville to engage in sex acts with the minor. Law enforcement found him at the Quality Inn with the victim and arrested him. His phone showed 75 videos of his encounters with the minor at the hotel.
Nellum faces at least 10 years and up to life in prison. Sentencing will be determined by the court based on advisory sentencing guidelines.
