A federal grand jury in Alabama has indicted Quincy T. Doss, a 41-year-old resident of Tuscaloosa, on wire fraud charges related to the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
The indictment, handed down this week, charges Doss with two counts of wire fraud, stemming from his alleged submission of false and fraudulent PPP loan applications between April 2021 and November 2021.
According to the indictment, Doss submitted two separate PPP loan applications, totaling more than $220,000, and misrepresented several key pieces of information, including the fact that his business was in operation and had employees for whom it paid salaries.
The maximum penalty for wire fraud is 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The FBI investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan ‘Jack’ Harrington is prosecuting the case.
