Emiliya Radford, Bank Fraud, Georgia 2023

MACON, Ga. – The former office manager of a Middle Georgia chiropractic office, Emiliya Radford, 33, from Warner Robins, has been found guilty by a federal jury of committing bank fraud and other federal crimes in an embezzlement scheme that defrauded her employer of over $200,000.

Radford was convicted on one count each of bank fraud, wire fraud, and federal program theft after a trial that concluded with approximately one hour of deliberation. Following the guilty verdict, Radford was immediately taken into federal custody. She faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine for bank fraud; 20 years and a $250,000 fine for wire fraud; and ten years and a $250,000 fine for federal program theft, plus any restitution ordered by the Court.

“Emiliya Radford chose greed over integrity, victimizing a small business that had been part of the Warner Robins community for decades,” said U.S. Attorney Peter D. Leary. “Financial crimes like these will not be tolerated.”

Robert Gibbs, Senior Supervisory Resident Agent of FBI Atlanta’s Macon office, added, “Radford violated the trust placed in her by her employer. Her actions have cost her career and freedom.”

Court documents and trial evidence revealed that Radford’s company, Cyber Pinecone, was contracted by Smith Spinal Care Center (SSCC) in Warner Robins to handle marketing work in September 2019. In May 2020, she became the office manager with signatory authority over the SSCC bank account at Wells Fargo. Radford embezzled funds by writing checks to herself and her business for over $200,000, including unauthorized pay raises and marketing services. Some of these funds were from COVID-19 Federal Economic Disaster Loans (EIDL). She also used company funds to purchase personal items worth nearly $11,000 from the Apple store.

Radford resigned on December 19, 2022, leaving several items unaccounted for at SSCC. During a search warrant executed May 4, 2023, some of these items were found in her home. The FBI conducted the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Howard prosecuted the case.
