PITTSBURGH, Pa. – In a chilling testament to the deadly consequences of fentanyl distribution, Rahde Williamson, 28, from Duquesne, Pennsylvania, was handed a 13-year sentence today by U.S. District Judge W. Scott Hardy for distributing the lethal substance that led to the tragic death of a 21-year-old woman.
Williamson’s reign of terror spanned from December 2018 to August 2019, when he supplied over 400 grams of fentanyl to Monessen-based dealer Delmar Pritchett. The fentanyl ultimately claimed the life of T.H., who overdosed in June 2019. Both Williamson and Pritchett admitted their roles in T.H.’s death.
But the story doesn’t end there. While awaiting trial at Butler County Prison, Williamson engaged in a separate conspiracy to distribute suboxone, a Schedule III narcotic. His previous conviction for conspiracy to distribute heroin in 2014, during which he was on federal supervised release, only adds to his rap sheet.
The sentencing of Delmar Pritchett, who received eight years in prison for his role in T.H.’s death and the drug conspiracy with Williamson, serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by the illegal drug trade. U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “Today’s sentencing is yet another reminder that the distribution of fentanyl can lead to tragedy.”
Olshan commended the Drug Enforcement Administration for their relentless pursuit of justice in this case. Assistant United States Attorney Nicole Vasquez Schmitt successfully prosecuted the government’s case against Williamson.
