Ramone J. Locke, Sr., a 37-year-old Milwaukee resident, has been sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment for his role in a cocaine trafficking operation on Milwaukee’s North Side. Locke was found guilty of supplying cocaine traffickers in the area, with court records indicating that he was involved in the distribution of five-to-fifteen kilograms of cocaine.
According to U.S. Attorney Gregory J. Haanstad, Locke’s sentence is the result of a proactive law enforcement investigation that culminated in his arrest in June 2022. During the arrest, authorities discovered two kilograms of cocaine hidden inside a secret compartment in Locke’s car.
Locke’s guilty plea included an admission that he supervised others in the drug distribution trade, and that he had previously been convicted of multiple felony offenses, including federal convictions for money laundering involving cocaine and using a telephone in furtherance of drug trafficking.
In addition to the lengthy prison sentence, Locke will also serve four years of supervised release following his release from prison. Locke’s obstruction of justice while the case was pending, including his attempts to intimidate a witness against him, were also taken into account during the sentencing.
Locke’s involvement in the cocaine trafficking operation was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Milwaukee Police Department, and the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.
