A local man has been sentenced for his involvement in a methamphetamine offense in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Randy Allen Gray, Jr., 40, was sentenced by United States Senior District Court Judge Robert W. Pratt on March 6, 2019, for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to court records, a search of Gray’s vehicle in December 2016 uncovered a pound of methamphetamine, a loaded .380 handgun, and over $4,000 in cash.

The case was investigated by the Dunlap Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, Sac County Sheriff’s Department, Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.

The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.

Gray was sentenced to ten years in prison, to be followed by a term of supervised release for ten years.

The charges against Gray stem from a search of his vehicle in December 2016, where a pound of methamphetamine, a loaded .380 handgun, and over $4,000 in cash were recovered.
