OKLAHOMA CITY — In a grim revelation from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Brian Wade Eddy, 49, of Oklahoma City, has pleaded guilty to accessing and viewing child pornography on his government-issued laptop.
Eddy was charged with intent to view child pornography on May 21, 2020, after an investigation revealed he accessed websites suspected of containing such content in December 2019. A federal grand jury indicted him on June 17, 2020, for knowingly accessing the material.
The ex-civilian employee at Tinker Air Force Base and Reserve Air Force Colonel admitted to searching and viewing child pornography from his government laptop during the plea hearing before U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton.
According to the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Eddy was terminated following the incident and faces substantial penalties. Sentencing is set for approximately 90 days, with potential imprisonment up to 10 years, a $250,000 fine, five years of supervised release, and a special assessment of $22,100.
This investigation is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Julia E. Barry is prosecuting the case.
