BOSTON – In a stunning admission of guilt, Rhode Island native Star Sirikhom, 38, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute over six kilograms of methamphetamine. The plea was entered in federal court on September 3, 2025.
The defendant’s sentencing, set for November 19, 2025, could see him facing life imprisonment. Sirikhom, along with five alleged co-conspirators, was indicted by a federal grand jury back in July 2022.
Investigation into a Colombia-based money laundering syndicate that funneled drug proceeds for multiple trafficking organizations began in 2019. Surveillance led to the discovery of a stash house where Sirikhom was seen entering with a backpack and leaving minutes later with it appearing heavier. During a traffic stop, authorities discovered over six kilograms of methamphetamine in the backpack.
The charges against Sirikhom carry mandatory minimum sentences of 10 years to life, five years of supervised release, and fines up to $10 million. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian J. Sullivan is handling the prosecution.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations. For more information on the OCDETF program, visit here.
