A Seminole County resident has taken responsibility for their involvement in a violent crime.
On April 29, 2023, Rian Reid Miller, age 22, of Wewoka, Oklahoma, knowingly used, carried, brandished, and discharged a firearm during an assault on the victim in Seminole County, within the boundaries of the Seminole Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation initiated an investigation into the crime. The Honorable D. Edward Snow, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Miller’s plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
Miller was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. Assistant United States Attorney Ryan Bondura represented the United States in this case. The charges against Miller arose from the investigation into the assault.
