Ricardo Hernandez-Del Angel, Statutory Sexual Assault, Pennsylvania 2006
A 32-year-old Mexican national, Ricardo Hernandez-Del Angel, has been brought back to justice for his role in a Statutory Sexual Assault case in Pennsylvania. Hernandez-Del Angel, who had previously been convicted of the crime in 2006 and deported from the United States in 2007, was found to have re-entered the country and was subsequently arrested by ICE officers in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
Hernandez-Del Angel faces a maximum sentence of up to 20 years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine if convicted. The investigation was conducted by ICE’s Criminal Alien Program in Philadelphia and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Brian G. McDonnell.
This case highlights the importance of ICE’s efforts to track down and bring to justice individuals who have been previously deported for serious crimes. Hernandez-Del Angel’s conviction is a testament to the dedication of law enforcement officials to keeping our communities safe.
Hernandez-Del Angel’s case is not the only one of its kind. Three other individuals, Victor Peralta-Serrano, Juan Calderon-Villanueva, and Miguel Salazar-Gomez, have also been charged with re-entering the United States after being previously deported.
Victor Peralta-Serrano, a 35-year-old Mexican national, was charged with re-entering the United States after being deported in 2007. He faces a maximum sentence of up to 10 years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
Juan Calderon-Villanueva, a 29-year-old Salvadoran national, was also charged with re-entering the United States after being deported in 2011. He faces a maximum sentence of up to two years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
Miguel Salazar-Gomez, a 31-year-old Mexican national, was charged with re-entering the United States after being deported in 2006. He faces a maximum sentence of up to two years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
Indictments are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
