Richard Lariviere, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, New Hampshire 2023

CONCORD, N.H. – In a shocking turn of events, Richard Lariviere, 45, of Nashua, New Hampshire, was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to Acting United States Attorney Donald Feith, Lariviere pleaded guilty to the crime and will be placed on three years of supervised release upon his release from prison, which will be monitored by the United States Probation Office.

The charges against Lariviere stem from a search warrant obtained by the Nashua Police Department on May 20, 2014. During the search, officers found a loaded, 7.65mm Walther semiautomatic handgun with serial number 20384 in a black bag on the front passenger seat of Lariviere’s Mercedes.

In addition to the handgun, police also found one box of .22 caliber ammunition, Lariviere’s license, and a check stub for Lariviere in his hotel room.

What’s more, the government introduced evidence that Lariviere sold four additional firearms in exchange for drugs in Lawrence, Massachusetts. This revelation raises serious concerns about the extent of Lariviere’s involvement in the illicit firearms trade.

Lariviere’s previous conviction of Felonious Assault on a Peace Officer in the State of Ohio, a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment, prohibited him from possessing a firearm or ammunition.

The case was investigated by the Nashua Police Department and the ATF, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra M. Walsh prosecuting the case.
