Greenville, SC – In a major blow to the local methamphetamine trade, Richard Ryan Jones, a 39-year-old from Gaffney, South Carolina, was sentenced to 120 months in prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine conspiracy. Jones was found guilty of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Five Hundred Grams or More of a Mixture or Substance Containing Methamphetamine, a federal offense.

According to the evidence presented in court, Jones was a major supplier of methamphetamine in the Upstate region of South Carolina between 2015 and 2016. His co-conspirators, including Bobby Spencer, Joy Nicole Spencer, and Christopher O’Brien, were also involved in the trafficking operation. The group distributed over 20 pounds of methamphetamine throughout the area.

United States District Judge J. Michelle Childs of Columbia presided over the sentencing hearing and handed down the 120-month sentence, followed by 5 years of supervised release.
