Myrtle Beach Man Sentenced on Methamphetamine Charge

Columbia, South Carolina – In a shocking turn of events, David George Darrigo, Jr., a 42-year-old man from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, has been sentenced to 100 months in prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in the state.

According to court documents, Darrigo was arrested in September 2016 after a search of his home yielded 227 grams of methamphetamine. This was not Darrigo’s first brush with the law, as he had previously sold MDMA to undercover agents in December 2015.

The investigation into Darrigo’s activities was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Fifteenth Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU). Assistant United States Attorney Christopher D. Taylor of the Florence office prosecuted the case.

United States Attorney Beth Drake stated that Darrigo’s sentencing serves as a reminder of the severity of the consequences for those involved in the trafficking of illicit substances. Darrigo will also serve three years of supervised release after completing his prison sentence.

The evidence presented at Darrigo’s sentencing hearing confirmed the extent of his involvement in the methamphetamine distribution organization. The investigation revealed that Darrigo was a key player in the organization, which operated in the Horry County area of South Carolina.

Law enforcement officials have praised the work of the DEA and the Fifteenth Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit in bringing Darrigo to justice. The sentencing of Darrigo serves as a warning to others involved in similar activities that they will be held accountable for their actions.

As the fight against methamphetamine trafficking continues, the public is reminded of the dangers of getting involved in illicit substances. Law enforcement agencies will continue to work tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle organizations involved in the trafficking of methamphetamine and other controlled substances.
