Ricky Ellis Lamb, Counterfeit Security Uttering, Oklahoma 2012

Ricky Ellis Lamb, a 33-year-old Eufaula man, has been sentenced to 25 months imprisonment for Possession and Uttering a Counterfeit Security, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 513(a).

The charges against Lamb arose from an investigation by the United States Secret Service, which revealed that he had knowingly possessed, uttered and caused to be uttered counterfeit securities. Specifically, the indictment alleged that on or about June 20, 2012, Lamb uttered a counterfeit check # 6410 on a closed account, made payable to Staples in the amount of $665.58, and drawn on Weokie Credit Union, an organization which operates in interstate commerce, with intent to deceive another.

Lamb was indicted in June, 2014 and pled guilty in September, 2014. The case was presided over by the Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee.

Assistant United States Attorney Melody Noble Nelson represented the United States in the case. The defendant will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending transportation to the designated federal facility at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.
