Lesman Jeroan Rivera-Vasquez, a 22-year-old Honduran national, has admitted to illegally possessing ammunition in a federal court. The guilty plea comes after a crash with a law enforcement vehicle on August 10, 2025, which led to the discovery of a rifle, a deer shot out of season, and two boxes of ammunition.
Rivera-Vasquez, who was living in Breckenridge Hills, waived his right to indictment by a grand jury and pleaded guilty to one count of possession of ammunition by an illegal alien. The charge carries a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine or both prison and fine.
The incident occurred when Rivera-Vasquez violated a stop sign, causing a crash with a Warren County Sheriff’s vehicle. Two deputies were injured in the crash. Further investigation revealed that Rivera-Vasquez had possessed the two boxes of ammunition on August 8, which had been purchased by someone else in a St. Peters, Missouri store.
Rivera-Vasquez’s plea also revealed that he had entered the United States illegally in February 2019 and was granted the ability to voluntarily depart. However, he failed to do so, and his plea has led to a guilty verdict. He is currently scheduled to be sentenced in December and will be deported after his release from custody.
The case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Berry is prosecuting the case.
