Concord, NH – Robely Eladio De Jesus Guerrero, 38, is facing over a decade in federal prison after being sentenced today for flooding New Hampshire with meth and fentanyl. The Dominican national, already deported once, wasn’t deterred, illegally re-entering the country and immediately resuming his role as a drug distributor. The sentence stems from a bust that highlights the relentless flow of narcotics into New England.
Guerrero’s record is lengthy and disturbing. Before his deportation in November 2021 by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), he racked up convictions in Massachusetts for identity theft and a child sex offense in 2020 and 2021. Despite being kicked out of the country, he returned and continued dealing drugs, openly defying immigration laws.
Federal prosecutors and DEA officials weren’t impressed with Guerrero’s hustle. U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan called it “putting poison on the streets,” while DEA’s New England chief, Jarod Forget, slammed his actions as a “blatant disregard for human life.” The feds moved quickly after Guerrero’s re-emergence, building a case that led to a guilty plea in September 2023 for both unlawful reentry and drug distribution.
Judge Landya McCafferty handed down a 125-month sentence, followed by five years of supervised release. The goal, according to authorities, is to take a known offender off the streets and send a warning to others thinking of playing the same game.
