Robert Brent Goodwin, a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history, was sentenced to 100 months in prison for illegally possessing four firearms in Bay Minette, Alabama.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama, Goodwin was found guilty of violating 18 USC § 922(g)(1) on June 17, 2016, after pleading guilty to the charges on March 17, 2016.
The incident occurred on June 28, 2015, when Goodwin was found to be in possession of four firearms in Bay Minette, Alabama, despite being a convicted felon.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fairhope Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorney Lawrence J. Bullard prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama.
As a convicted felon, Goodwin was barred from possessing firearms, and his extensive criminal history consisted of three prior felony convictions.
The court sentenced Goodwin to serve 100 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for his crime.
