A 59-year-old Council Bluffs man has been sentenced to 140 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking ring in Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
According to court documents, Robert Joe Kinney, Sr., sold methamphetamine to undercover law enforcement on three separate occasions between March 22, 2018 and June 6, 2018. The transactions were part of a larger investigation into methamphetamine distribution in the area.
The investigation was led by the Council Bluffs Police Department and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
Kinney, who was 59 years old at the time of sentencing, was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge John A Jarvey on April 18, 2019.
