New York Man Charged in Multi-State Cargo-Theft Conspiracy
BOSTON – Robert Lee Harris, a 43-year-old New Yorker, has been indicted for allegedly conspiring to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of cargo and sell the items for illicit profit.

According to the US Department of Justice, the goods allegedly stolen include beer worth approximately $35,200; 33,750 pounds of frozen snow crabs worth approximately $325,000; pallets of blueberries; and more than $430,000 worth of designer cologne.
Harris, a resident of Queens, New York, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen goods, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
The alleged conspiracy took place between February 2022 and January 2023, with Harris and his co-conspirators targeting cargo shipments in multiple states, including New York, Massachusetts, and Florida.
Harris was arrested on January 25, 2023, and has been detained since. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 2023.
The investigation into Harris and his co-conspirators was led by the US Department of Justice, in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the US Customs and Border Protection.
