Rochester Man Sentenced in Cocaine Conspiracy

Rochester, NY – In a major blow to the city’s underworld, LaPrece Lawhorn, 26, of Rochester, NY, has been sentenced to 180 months in prison for his involvement in a cocaine conspiracy. Lawhorn was found guilty of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base.

Lawhorn’s sentence is the culmination of an investigation led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, under the direction of Scott Heagney, and the Rochester Police Department, under the direction of Chief James Sheppard.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert Marangola and Jennifer Noto, who handled the case, Lawhorn was involved in a drug trafficking organization responsible for the distribution of large amounts of cocaine and cocaine base in the Rochester area. He was also involved in manufacturing and distributing the cocaine base.

This is the fourth sentencing in connection with this investigation, which resulted in the conviction of all 10 defendants arrested. Lawhorn’s sentence sends a clear message that those involved in cocaine trafficking will face severe consequences.

The investigation into the cocaine conspiracy was a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies in the Rochester area.
