David Bradley Garrison, Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Distribution of Child Pornography, Iowa 2025

SIOUX CITY, IA – David Bradley Garrison, 44, of Rockwell, Iowa, will spend the next 21 years in federal prison after being sentenced yesterday for sickening crimes against children. Garrison received 252 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty in March 2025 to one count of sexual exploitation of a child and distribution of child pornography. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand.

The depravity of Garrison’s actions began to surface in July 2021, when he recorded a video depicting a child engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He didn’t stop there. In May and August of the same year, Garrison actively distributed this vile material to multiple individuals. A search of his Rockwell residence in January 2022 revealed a horrifying cache of thousands of photographs and videos, including depictions of infants and images portraying child sexual torture and bondage. Disturbingly, even after law enforcement intervention, Garrison continued to possess this illegal content.

Federal prosecutors detailed the extent of Garrison’s depravity during the sentencing hearing. Assistant United States Attorneys Devra T. Hake and Dillan Edwards presented evidence painting a grim picture of a man consumed by horrific interests. Judge Strand didn’t hesitate to impose the maximum penalty, ordering Garrison to pay $16,000 in restitution to his victims. This isn’t a slap on the wrist; it’s an attempt, however small, to address the irreparable harm he’s caused.

This case was prosecuted under the umbrella of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice. The program aims to dismantle networks exploiting children and bring predators like Garrison to justice. It’s a grim reminder that this isn’t an isolated incident – it’s a widespread epidemic requiring coordinated efforts from federal, state, and local law enforcement.

Garrison is currently in the custody of the United States Marshals Service and will be transferred to a federal prison facility. He will serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Rockwell Police Department.
