Convicted: Child Pornography in St. Francois County

A disturbing case of child exploitation has made headlines in St. Francois County, Missouri. Rodney D. Price, a 42-year-old man from Park Hills, has been convicted by a federal jury of receiving and accessing child pornography.

The crime was uncovered by investigators in 2019, who discovered that child sexual abuse materials were available via a peer-to-peer file sharing application. A thorough investigation led to the identification of Price as the individual responsible for accessing and receiving the illicit content.

Further evidence revealed that Price had used his phone to search for and view child sexual abuse materials. A total of 167 images containing these materials were found on his phone.

Price is scheduled to be sentenced on January 31. The receiving child pornography charge carries a potential penalty of five to 20 years in prison, while the charge of accessing child pornography is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

The case was a collaborative effort between the U.S. Secret Service, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri’s State Technical Assistance Team, and Investigator Donya Jackson. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jillian Anderson and Rob Livergood are prosecuting the case.
