Hartford Man Sentenced to 27 Years for Child Pornography

A Hartford man has been sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for producing child pornography, according to a recent sentencing.

Ronald Daniel, 52, of Hartford, was sentenced to 324 months of imprisonment, followed by 10 years of supervised release, by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Daniel had sexual contact with a prepubescent female and took cellphone photos of his conduct on at least two occasions in 2018.

He also distributed some of these images, as well as other images and videos of child pornography, through the Kik mobile application under the username “letsgogetluv.”

This case is a stark reminder of the importance of protecting our children from predators like Ronald Daniel.

The investigation into Daniel’s activities was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Connecticut State Police and the Vernon Police Department.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nancy V. Gifford.

U.S. Attorney Leonard C. Boyle thanked the State’s Attorney’s Office for the Judicial District of Tolland for its close cooperation in investigating and prosecuting this matter.

This prosecution is part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood Initiative, aimed at protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation.
