Roseberry Indicted: Guns, Meth & A Lifetime Behind Bars?
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Another corner of this city is about to get a little quieter, and not because of peace. Victor Roseberry, 60, of Kansas City, Missouri, is facing a federal indictment that could lock him away for life. The charges? Illegally packing heat and peddling meth. This isn’t a first offense; this is a career criminal with a rap sheet longer than your arm.
A federal grand jury handed down the three-count indictment on June 27, 2025, but it remained sealed until today, following Roseberry’s arrest. The indictment details two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm – allegedly found on June 9, 2023, and July 4, 2024 – and one count of possessing 5 or more grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, also on July 4, 2024. The feds aren’t messing around, labeling Roseberry an “armed career criminal” due to his extensive history.
And what a history it is. Court records show Roseberry’s already served time for robbery, domestic assault, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, and – ironically – possessing a firearm as a previously convicted violent offender. This isn’t a slip-up; this is a pattern. He’s apparently learned nothing from his previous encounters with the justice system, and now he’s staring down the barrel of a potentially life-altering sentence.
Let’s be clear: these are just allegations at this point. The government has to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury. But the potential penalties are stark. Under federal law, Roseberry could receive a sentence of up to life in federal prison without the possibility of parole. The actual sentence, however, will be determined by the court, factoring in sentencing guidelines and other legal considerations.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica L. Jennings is prosecuting the case, and a sentencing hearing will be scheduled after a presentence investigation is completed by the United States Probation Office. Don’t expect a quick resolution; these cases drag on.
This case falls under “Operation Take Back America,” a nationwide initiative aimed at dismantling cartels, tackling transnational criminal organizations, and, as the name suggests, “taking back” our communities. It’s a broad stroke initiative combining resources from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN). Whether it’s just rhetoric or actual progress remains to be seen, but for Roseberry, the operation has already led to his arrest and a very uncertain future.
