Around Rock Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Sexual Abuse of Children

PHOENIX, Ariz. – A despicable crime has shaken the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation, where a 59-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison for the heinous act of sexual abuse of two children. Robert Jim, a registered sex offender, was found guilty by a jury of aggravated sexual abuse.

The gruesome act took place on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation, where both Jim and the victims are tribal members. The disturbing case has left the community in shock, and the victims’ families are still reeling from the news.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Navajo Nation Department of Criminal Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Tracy Van Buskirk and Kiyoko Patterson, District of Arizona, Phoenix, handled the prosecution.

U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell delivered the life sentence, along with an additional 10 years, to Robert Jim. The case number is CR-18-8225-PCT-DGC, and the release number is 2021-044_Jim.
