Kendall Anagal, Sexual Abuse, Arizona 2024

PHOENIX, Ariz. – In a major blow to the predators lurking in the shadows, Kendall Anagal, 41, of Chinle, was sentenced to life in prison for his heinous crimes against a child.

According to the DOJ USAO, Anagal was found guilty of three counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse and one count of Abusive Sexual Contact of a Child by a federal jury on February 9, 2024. The victim, who was between nine and 10 years old at the time of the abuse, was repeatedly and violently sexually abused by Anagal. The traumatic experience went unreported for years, with the victim finally coming forward when she was 17 years old, fearing for her life if she spoke out.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Tracy Van Buskirk and Sharon K. Sexton, District of Arizona, Phoenix, handled the prosecution. Their tireless efforts brought Anagal to justice and ensured that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The case, CR-22-8113-PCT-DJH, serves as a reminder that child sex abuse is a pervasive and devastating issue that demands attention and action. The Grimy Times commends the bravery of the victim and the dedication of the investigators and prosecutors who worked to bring Anagal to justice.
