Ruben Robles-Ramos, Methamphetamine Distribution, Idaho 2020

A 49-year-old Gooding man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine in Idaho’s Magic Valley region.

Ruben Robles-Ramos, a native of Mexico, was found guilty of distributing methamphetamine to another individual on three separate occasions in early 2020, according to court records obtained by Grimy Times.

An investigation led by the Idaho State Police, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and local law enforcement agencies, revealed that Robles-Ramos was involved in the distribution of methamphetamine in the Magic Valley.

Law enforcement officials conducted a search of storage units used by Robles-Ramos and his associates, resulting in the seizure of approximately 30 pounds of methamphetamine, 1½ pounds of heroin, and five firearms, including an AK-47 style assault rifle.

U.S. Attorney Rafael M. Gonzalez, Jr., commended the cooperative efforts of the various law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation, stating that the success of the case was a result of their hard work and dedication.

Ruben Robles-Ramos, whose exact date of birth was not reported, will serve an additional five years of supervised release after completing his 10-year prison sentence. Upon completion of his sentence, it is expected that he will be deported to Mexico.

The case against Ruben Robles-Ramos is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation, which aimed to dismantle high-level drug traffickers and transnational criminal organizations.
