Plainfield Man Faces Mandatory Minimum 15-Year Sentence for Producing Child Pornography
A disturbing case of child exploitation has come to light in Connecticut, with 30-year-old Ryan Stone of Plainfield pleading guilty to producing child pornography. According to court documents, Stone took sexually explicit photographs and video of a six-year-old girl between March 30 and April 1, 2017.
The investigation into Stone’s activities was led by Homeland Security Investigations and the Plainfield Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nancy V. Gifford is prosecuting the case.
Stone has been in state custody since April 19, when he was arrested for criminal trespass in the first degree and criminal violation of a restraining order. He is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant on March 21, 2018, at which time he faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of 30 years.
