A 44-year-old Mexican national has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution scheme in Omaha, Nebraska.
Salvador Ochoa-Cuevas, a resident of Jalisco, Mexico, was sentenced to 120 months in prison by United States District Court Judge Brian C. Buescher on April 2, 2025.
Ochoa-Cuevas pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of methamphetamine after being accused of selling 388 grams of the illicit substance to an undercover informant in March 2021.
According to court documents, a confidential source working with law enforcement made a recorded phone call to Ochoa-Cuevas on March 26, 2021, to arrange a meeting to purchase methamphetamine at 25th and C streets in Highland Park.
The informant was outfitted with audio and video recording devices during the transaction, and surveillance was maintained on the informant as he arrived at the designated location. Ochoa-Cuevas arrived shortly thereafter and delivered the methamphetamine in exchange for $4,000.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Omaha Police Department.
Ochoa-Cuevas will begin serving his sentence immediately and will be subject to deportation to Mexico upon completion, as he is not a United States citizen.
