San Pablo Man Pleads Guilty to Enticement and Coercion of a Minor
OAKLAND, CA – In a shocking case of child abuse, 67-year-old Adalberto Borja Guardado of San Pablo pleaded guilty to enticement and coercion of a minor, announced Acting United States Attorney Stephanie M. Hinds and Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Tatum King on [Date].
Guardado’s guilty plea stems from an incident on September 9, 2019, when a three-year-old girl visited his residence with her mother, who provided home health care to Guardado’s elderly mother. Guardado agreed to watch the girl while her mother provided care in another part of the residence.
However, within minutes of watching the girl, Guardado pulled down her pants and molested her. In a heinous act of depravity, he further admitted to using his cell phone to record the molestation.
Guardado was charged by criminal information in federal court on June 10, 2021, with enticement and coercion of a minor, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2422(b). The penalty for this crime is a maximum imprisonment term of life in prison, with a mandatory minimum imprisonment term of ten years, and a fine of $250,000.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 11, 2022, in United States District Court in Oakland before the Honorable Jeffrey S. White, United States District Judge. Guardado remains in custody while awaiting his sentencing.
The investigation into Guardado’s crimes was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the San Pablo Police Department. As the case against Guardado unfolded, authorities worked tirelessly to bring justice to the young victim and her family.
