Sandisfield Sex Offender Hohman Sentenced to 10 Years for Child Porn and Unregistered Firearm

A 60-year-old Sandisfield man with a long history of crime has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography and an unregistered firearm.

Brian Hohman, 60, of Sandisfield, Massachusetts, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni to 10 years in prison to be followed by 10 years of supervised release.

The charges against Hohman stem from a search of his residence in September 2023, where authorities found a sawed-off shotgun not registered to him and a laptop containing over 300 visually unique images, including at least two videos depicting child pornography.

According to the Department of Justice, the investigation revealed that Hohman also possessed two cell phones and a SIM card containing child pornography.

The case against Hohman was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Catherine G. Curley of the Springfield Branch Office prosecuted the case, with valuable assistance provided by the Massachusetts State Police and the Litchfield Judicial District State’s Attorney’s Office in Connecticut.

“This case is a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of child sexual exploitation,” said Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy. “We will continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice and to protect the most vulnerable members of our society.”

Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, as well as identify and rescue victims.
